MEET THE FIRST LADY-ELECT
Kelly Barlow
Kelly Barlow is an educator, ranch partner, and community volunteer whose work has connected her with children and families throughout Wyoming.
Born in northeast Mississippi, Kelly moved frequently as her family followed construction projects, attending 18 schools before graduating from high school in Memphis, Tennessee. She earned a degree in elementary education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1990 and later completed a master’s degree in special education at the University of Northern Colorado.
Kelly met Eric in ninth grade at Twin Spruce Junior High School in Gillette. They married in 1991 and welcomed their children, Kate and Graham, while continuing their education.
Kelly homeschooled their children for much of their schooling and served as a 4-H leader for 20 years. She has also worked as a teacher and case manager in public and private education while helping operate the family ranch.
Her community service has included board roles with Climb Wyoming and the Gillette College Foundation, along with involvement in the Campbell County Woolgrowers Auxiliary, Make It With Wool and P.E.O.
Kelly welcomes students, community organizations, and leadership groups to the family ranch, sharing the place she and Eric have built their lives.
