Eric Barlow Statement on Wyoming Gubernatorial Election

CASPER, WYOMING — Eric Barlow released the following statement tonight following his election as Wyoming’s next governor:

“Kelly and I are deeply grateful to the people of Wyoming for the trust they have placed in us,” Barlow said. “We began this campaign by traveling the state, listening to our neighbors and working to earn their support. Those conversations shaped this campaign, and they will guide the work ahead. To our family, campaign team, volunteers and everyone who gave their time and support to this effort: thank you. I am proud of the campaign we ran together.

To those who supported another candidate, I will work to earn your trust, too. My responsibility as governor will be to every person who calls Wyoming home. I thank Ken Casner, Rebecca Bextel and the candidates who participated in the primary for stepping forward to serve. We will have differences, but we can approach them with respect and work together where we share common goals.

Wyoming families deserve a government that listens, spends responsibly and delivers dependable service. We have work to do to improve access to healthcare, support our schools and strengthen the industries that sustain our communities. We must protect our water and respect private property rights while creating opportunities for new businesses and investment. Above all, we need a Wyoming where our young people can build careers, raise families and make their futures here.

I thank Governor Mark Gordon and First Lady Jennie Gordon for their service to Wyoming. As we begin this transition, I look forward to working with the governor’s team, legislative leaders and local communities. I will bring the same commitment to this office that I brought to the campaign: show up, listen and do the work.”
